Safeguarding Policy

Policy Statement:  

Infinity Energy Organisation Ltd. (hereafter “IEO”) is committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for all individuals who come into contact with our organisation, including employees, contractors, clients, and members of the public. Our safeguarding policy aims to protect children, young people, and vulnerable adults from harm and ensure that their welfare is always prioritised. IEO is dedicated to maintaining a culture of respect, trust, and care in all aspects of our work.

  1. Purpose:  

This policy outlines IEO’s approach to safeguarding and provides guidelines for identifying, preventing, and responding to potential risks to the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals. It applies to all employees, contractors, and anyone representing IEO in any capacity.

  1. Scope:  

This policy applies to:

  • All IEO employees, contractors, and partners.
  • Individuals working on behalf of IEO.
  • Clients, suppliers, and any other stakeholders who interact with our organisation.

It focuses on safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults, but also applies to ensuring the safety and dignity of all individuals. 

  1. Key Principles:  

The key principles that guide our safeguarding policy are:

  • Zero Tolerance for Harm: IEO has a zero-tolerance approach toward any form of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
  • Empowerment: Individuals should be supported to make their own decisions, with their rights and autonomy respected.
  • Prevention: Proactive steps will be taken to minimise risks and prevent harm from occurring.
  • Accountability: Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and all staff members are held accountable for protecting vulnerable individuals.
  1. Safeguarding Responsibilities:  
  1. Management:  
  • Ensure that safeguarding policies and procedures are in place and regularly updated.
  • Provide adequate training and resources to employees for understanding and implementing safeguarding protocols.
  • Appoint a Safeguarding Officer who will oversee safeguarding issues and provide guidance when necessary.
  1. Safeguarding Officer:  
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all safeguarding concerns.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies are followed and provide advice and support to staff.
  • Conduct regular reviews of safeguarding practices within the organisation.
  1. Employees and Contractors:  
  • Understand and comply with the safeguarding policy.
  • Be vigilant and report any concerns or suspicions regarding the safety of vulnerable individuals.
  • Participate in safeguarding training and development.
  1. Safeguarding Procedures:  
  1. Recruitment and Vetting:  
  • All prospective employees and contractors will undergo thorough vetting and background checks, including DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks where required.
  • Safeguarding awareness and training will be part of the induction process for all new staff members.
  1. Training:  
  • Regular safeguarding training will be provided to ensure that employees understand their responsibilities and how to identify and respond to safeguarding concerns.
  • Employees working directly with children, young people, or vulnerable adults will receive specialised safeguarding training.
  1. Reporting Safeguarding Concerns:  
  • All employees are required to report any safeguarding concerns or suspicions to the Safeguarding Officer immediately.
  • Concerns should be raised in accordance with IEO’s reporting procedures and will be treated with strict confidentiality.
  1. Responding to Safeguarding Incidents: 
  • Any safeguarding concern reported will be thoroughly investigated by the Safeguarding Officer.
  • In cases where immediate action is necessary, the Safeguarding Officer will coordinate with local authorities and external safeguarding agencies.
  • IEO will cooperate fully with any external investigations or legal proceedings.
  1. Safeguarding in the Workplace:  

IEO is committed to providing a safe and secure work environment. The following measures will be taken to safeguard vulnerable individuals within our workplace: 

  • Clear safeguarding signage will be displayed at all premises.
  • Secure access to IEO offices and work sites will be maintained at all times to ensure safety.
  • Any activities involving vulnerable individuals will be supervised and subject to risk assessments.
  1. Confidentiality and Data Protection:  

All safeguarding concerns will be handled with strict confidentiality, in line with relevant data protection regulations, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Information will only be shared with relevant authorities or agencies where necessary to protect vulnerable individuals.

  1. Review and Continuous Improvement:  

This Safeguarding Policy will be reviewed annually or in response to changes in legislation or best practices. Feedback from employees, stakeholders, and safeguarding authorities will be considered in the policy’s review process.

  1. Legal Compliance:  

IEO is committed to complying with all UK safeguarding laws and regulations, including the Children Act 1989 and Care Act 2014, as well as any local London-specific safeguarding policies.
